Mr. Grandpre serves as chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Outdoor Living Brands, a company dedicated to franchising leading brands within the outdoor living market. The company's portfolio currently includes Archadeck, the world's leading design and build contractor of custom residential decks, screened porches, sunrooms and other outdoor living spaces, Mosquito Squad, a leading mosquito, tick and outdoor pest control company, and Outdoor Lighting Perspectives, the leader in outdoor lighting systems for the residential market. As Chairman and CEO of Outdoor Living Brands, Mr. Grandpre sets strategic direction for the company, including growth through franchisees owners, acquisitions and fostering a corporate culture of innovation and service.
Prior to the formation of Outdoor Living Brands, Mr. Grandpre served as president of Archadeck since 2005. Before joining Archadeck, he worked for the consulting firm Accenture, CFC, two investment banking and merger and acquisition advisory firms, BB&T Capital Markets and Matrix Capital Markets Group, Inc. During his career, he has served in an advisory capacity on more than $500 million of corporate transactions including corporate sales, acquisitions, divestitures and both public and private market equity and debt financings.
Mr. Grandpre has a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Notre Dame and a master's of business administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. He serves as a director on the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business Alumni Board of Directors. Mr. Grandpre resides in Richmond, Virginia, with his wife, Susan, and three children.
President & COO
Scott Zide is chief operating officer (COO) of Outdoor Living Brands, which includes Archadeck, the leading design and build contractor of custom residential decks, screened porches, sunrooms and other outdoor living spaces, Mosquito Squad, a leading mosquito, tick and outdoor pest control company, and Outdoor Lighting Perspectives (OLP), the leader in residential outdoor lighting design and systems. As COO of Outdoor Living Brands, Mr. Zide manages day-to-day operations and strategic planning.
Mr. Zide began working with OLP in 2000 as a franchise owner in St. Louis, Missouri, having spent several years as a franchise owner in the restaurant industry. In 2002 he was hired by Outdoor Lighting Perspectives Franchise (OLPF) as a consultant to help support new franchisees, leading to a full-time position as director of franchise support.
In June 2004, Mr. Zide and his wife, Erin, sold their OLP St. Louis location in preparation for a move to Charlotte, where he assumed the role of vice president of OLPF. During his tenure with OLP, he helped grow the company to more than 80 franchise locations worldwide, with primary responsibilities that included the day-to-day management of operations as well as long term strategic planning.
Mr. Zide graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in business management. He resides in Richmond, Virginia, with his wife and two children.
Vice President & CFO
Corey L. Schroeder is vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) of Outdoor Living Brands, a multi-brand franchise company dedicated to products and services within the outdoor living market, which currently includes leading brands Archadeck, Mosquito Squad and Outdoor Lighting Perspectives. As vice president and CFO of Outdoor Living Brands, Mr. Schroeder is responsible for the financial reporting and management of the business, overseeing franchise compliance matters and working to support the strategic direction of the company.
Prior to the formation of Outdoor Living Brands, Mr. Schroeder served as Vice President and CFO of Archadeck since 2006. His experience before joining Archadeck included a position in the corporate treasury department of CarMax, a Fortune 500 retailer of used automobiles. Mr. Schroeder also spent several years in merger and acquisition investment banking at Matrix Capital Markets Group, Inc. in Richmond, Virginia. During his investment banking career, he served in an advisory capacity on many transactions including corporate sales, acquisitions, divestitures and private equity and debt financings.
Mr. Schroeder has a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Richmond and a master's degree in accounting from the College of William and Mary. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Mr. Schroeder resides in Richmond, Virginia, with his wife, Jessica, and their two kids.
Brand Strategist & Creative Director
Larry Spada is the Brand Strategist at Outdoor Living Brands, a company responsible for the franchising and marketing of leading brands in the outdoor living industry. In his position, Mr. Spada spearheads the brand personality effort in creating a multi-brand franchise channel for the company, including Archadeck, Mosquito Squad, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives and Renew Crew.
Prior to the formation of Outdoor Living Brands, Mr. Spada served as director of brand marketing and lead generation for Outdoor Lighting Perspectives where he was responsible for the rebranding of the company, national advertising activities and the creation of a Lifestage Direct Mail methodology. Mr. Spada brings more than 25 years of marketing experience to Outdoor Living Brands, having worked with some of the country's leading brands, including Bank of America, FedEx, Jack Daniels, Mayo Clinic and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Mr. Spada's work experience includes tenures with several well-respected advertising and marketing agencies, including Adworks, Interactive Direct Marketing and Spada Advertising, companies that he founded and operated, as well as Wray Ward and iXL Enterprises, both in Charlotte, North Carolina.
A graduate of Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, Mr. Spada resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his wife, Laurel. They have two grown children.
Vice President Outdoor Lighting Perspectives
Rich Young is Vice President for Outdoor Lighting Perspectives, a franchise company within Outdoor Living Brands, a multi-franchise operation supporting brands within the outdoor living category.
Mr. Young formerly served as director of franchise support for Outdoor Lighting Perspectives Franchise (OLPF), joining the company in April 2006 to assist in the support of the company's franchisees. In this position, Mr. Young was responsible for all facets of franchise support, including development and implementation of field support programs, field visits and trade alliance development with companies such as GE Money and ADT Security Systems. Prior to his tenure at OLPF, Mr. Young spent 13 years in retail management at store, district, and regional levels for Target and Home Depot.
Mr. Young holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Madonna University in Livonia, Mich. He resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife Amy, and their three children.
Vice President Mosquito Squad
To ensure that the Mosquito Squad Operations Team remains strong, forward-thinking and customer service focused, Amy Lawhorne serves as the Mosquito Squad Vice President and Brand Leader.
Recognized as a “rock star” in the franchise industry, Ms. Lawhorne has the broad experience and nurturing talent to exponentially build and add value to the operations, training and relationship building skills so critical to the Mosquito Squad brand.
Ms. Lawhorne brings rich experience in operations management, sales, finance, human resource development, legal compliance and customer service to Mosquito Squad, most recently serving as chief operating officer of SFE, LLC where she oversaw more than 350 locations. Previously, she spent more than 20 years with Dairy Queen of Virginia, Inc. where she developed and implemented the business and operations plan, growing the company from 36 to 120 profit centers. She also served as a regional account manager for McLane Company, a $30B supply chain operations leader.
Vice President Archadeck
As Brand Leader, Michael Reeder is responsible for the day to day operations of the Archadeck franchise system. His responsibilities reside in the coaching, training and mentoring of existing and new franchisees as well as monitoring the growth of the Archadeck system. He also leads the franchise recruiting processes in selecting viable candidates to venture into Archadeck.
Mr. Reeder began his career as an Archadeck franchisee in Columbus, Ohio after working in the hospitality business for 15 years with Hyatt Hotels. He began his entrepreneurship with Archadeck in August, 2001 and successfully grew the business to $2M annual revenue by end of 2015. Michael received the “President’s Award” in 2012 for outstanding franchisee of the year, served as Midwest Regional President for 2 terms, served on the Strategic Advisory Board and on many franchise committees during his tenure. In early 2016, Michael sold his business and took on the new role of Brand Leader for Archadeck.
Michael’s expertise in sales, operations management and business management made him the candidate of choice to elevate Archadeck to higher levels. Mr. Reeder graduated with a degree in Business Management from the University of Houston and resides in Richmond, Virginia with his wife Carol and their 2 boys, Jacob and Kyle.
Vice President Renew Crew
As our brand leader, Mike comes to us with a background in franchising that includes experience on both sides of the franchise model. He has experience as a franchise owner in two different systems where he learned the challenges that franchise owners face on a day to day basis. His career in franchising started by launching a Party America store that he grew into the largest store in the system within three years. After selling that business, he acquired a Minuteman Press franchise location and dramatically turned it around before selling it. After selling his franchise businesses, Mike transitioned to the franchisor side to help others accomplish what he was able to in his time as a franchise owner.
After working for Jani-King, a commercial cleaning franchise, Mike was hired as the COO of The Grout Medic, a company that currently has 56 locations focused on the cleaning, sealing and repairing of tile and grout. He spent countless hours there working directly with the franchise owners to help them improve the overall operations of their businesses. He is a huge advocate of planning and budgeting and has a great deal of experience in the "home services" category that he will bring to Renew Crew. He also has a very strong sales and training background and is excited about joining the team and working to help all of the Renew Crew franchisees to grow their top and bottom lines.
